The university offers in-house accommodation to its students. Students can choose from self-catered or catered rooms that offer a variety of living and recreational facilities. Students can also opt to live in private accommodation that are not too far from the campus. Cardiff hotels are normally located in the city centre and within the vicinity of tourist spots and destinations. These accommodation range from budget to luxury rooms, and are equipped with various facilities.

Cardiff has a range of three and four-star hotels and small affordable inns for visitors going to Cardiff University. They are advised to reserve their rooms at least a month in advance during regular season and two months in advance during peak season. They can also get a discount if they reserve early.


Student Accommodation


Cardiff University offers several residence halls for its local and international students. These residence halls can be catered or self-catered, depending on the students' preference. Eleven of these residences are located in Cathays Park Campus, while one is located in Heath Park Campus. With the exception of Aberdare Hall, which is an all-female residence, all the other residence halls are multi-sex. Talybont is a residence village with a launderette, gym, pub, and an on-site shop. Because of the vast number of its single-occupancy resident rooms, the university is able to provide accommodation for its entire freshman undergraduate students who went through the normal process of applying to the university. Each of the residence rooms has its own study and bed with a private shower and toilet. The university is also slowly upgrading its residence halls by installing computer networks, sports centres, launderettes, bars, gyms, and other shops. All residences are equipped with surveillance cameras for the students' safety.

Those who want to live off-campus can go to the many private accommodation near Cardiff University. Cathays and Victoria Hall are the most recommended areas, but students are advised to visit the University Accommodation Office to get a list of more options for off-campus residences. Whether they want in-house or off-campus residences, students are advised to reserve their slots at least a month before the first day of school.
